Stevens-Johnson syndrome and hospitalization
Well, what a year it has been for me. First the knee surgery, now this. I was taking sulfasalazine for arthritis. (I’m still not convinced I have rheumatoid arthritis) and I had a severe allergic reaction to it. It turned into stevens johnson syndrome and I was hospitalized for five days. I have never known such misery! My eyes would be crusted shut every morning and I had to use a washcloth to open them. My face and body is covered in a rash and my mouth has been so sore I haven’t been able to eat anything except soft foods like rice and pudding. I am down to 169 pounds. Which is nice, since I put on some weight during my knee surgery rehab. I want to get back down to 15o again, and would like to stay there. I am going to a packer game in less then 3 weeks, and then vegas for my birthday in less then 7 weeks! I just want to get healthy again! I am lucky however, that this syndrome didn’t go into my lungs, or it could have been life threatening.
